The Committee for tourism development of St. Petersburg

The Committee implements the state policy of St. Petersburg in tourism development, hotel infrastructure in St. Petersburg, and the hotel industry in St. Petersburg.

The main tasks of the Committee:

Formation and implementation of the state policy of St. Petersburg in the field of tourism, including social, exhibition and conventional, medical and recreational, internal, building and reconstruction of tourism infrastructure facilities.

Coordination of the St. Petersburg executive authorities activities in the field of hotel infrastructure and other accommodation facilities. Elaboration and implementation of programs for the development of St. Petersburg as a tourist, congress, and business center, building and reconstruction of tourism infrastructure facilities, hotel infrastructure and other accommodation facilities in St. Petersburg.

Creation of favorable conditions for the Tourist Development in St. Petersburg.

Development and implementation of activities aimed at the tourism development.

Analysis, forecasting, and determination of priority directions for the tourism industry development in St. Petersburg.

Assistance in the development of regional and international relations of St. Petersburg in the field of tourism.

Increasing the attractiveness of St. Petersburg as a major international and regional tourist, congress, and business center.

For the tasks implementation, the Committee utilizes the following powers and performs the following functions:

• Develops and implements programs for St. Petersburg development as a tourist, congress and business center; building and reconstruction of infrastructure facilities for tourism and hotel industry.
• Coordinates the activities of the state power executive bodies of St. Petersburg in the field of tourism, tourist infrastructure development, hotel industry and other accommodation facilities in St. Petersburg.
• Carries out analysis, forecasting, and determination of priority directions for the tourism industry development in St. Petersburg.
• Carries out the development and implementation of measures aimed at the tourism, international, and interregional tourist and business relations development in the framework of St. Petersburg contracts and agreements.
• Promotes tourism products in the domestic and foreign markets, including participating in international congress and exhibition activities.
• Conducts the accreditation of guides and guides-translators.
